New undisputed world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk says he is ready for a rematch with Tyson Fury after the Ukrainian recorded an impressive win over his British foe in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in the early hours of Sunday morning.

With the win, Usyk took the WBC belt from Fury to add to his WBA, WBO, and IBF collection.

The 37-year-old remains unbeaten and is the first boxer in almost 25 years to stand tall as the sport’s sole heavyweight world champion.

Speaking after the fight, Usyk said he was ready to fight Fury, who suffered his first loss in a 16-year professional boxing career.

“Yes, of course, I am ready for a rematch,” he said.

“Thank you so much to my team. It’s a big opportunity for my family, for me, for my country. It’s a great time. It’s a great day.”

Also, speaking about the rematch, Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren said, “That’s what the contract says. “It’s what he (Fury) wants. It’s his call. It’s Tyson’s call. So, whatever he wants to do is up to him. The clause in the contract says an immediate rematch.”

Fury insists he has unfinished business with Usyk and is already poised to return to the ring in October to settle scores with the Ukrainian.

“Yeah, for sure,” Fury said. “We go back, have a little rest-up, spend some time with our families, and we’ll get it back on in October. Like I said, I believe I won the fight, but I’m not going to sit here and cry and make excuses. It was a good fight.”
