JAMB names 23 CBT centres delisted in 11 states [SEE FULL LIST]

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the names of 23 computer-based test (CBT) centres delisted over “technical inaccuracies” that marred the 2026 mock unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME).

On March 27, several candidates scheduled to sit for the examination were left stranded, after a technical failure disrupted the exercise in some parts of the country.

Reports indicate that across many centres, the exam failed to commence several hours after candidates arrived, sparking widespread concern, outbursts, and backlash among Nigerians, particularly on social media.

On March 31, JAMB released the results of the mock examination, announcing the delisting of 20 CBT centres where the technical glitches were recorded.

In a statement on Friday, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB spokesperson, released the names of the affected CBT centres, which have been increased from 20 to 23 across 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), saying they were delisted for technical inefficiencies.

Benjamin added that the board has also issued warnings to 88 centres with minor technical issues, adding that one centre would no longer to be used in any of its examinations.

He said the mock UTME, introduced to enable candidates familiarise themselves with the CBT environment, also serves as a critical platform for JAMB to assess its level of preparedness.

“It provides an opportunity to identify centres that fall short of the required operational and technical standards,” he said.

According to him, in the aftermath of the 2026 mock UTME, JAMB’s internal review mechanisms flagged some centres over failure to meet required standards.

“Consequently, the Board has taken decisive steps, in line with its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its examination processes, to ensure that only centres that are fully prepared and compliant participate in the main UTME exercise,” he added.
