Kano INEC office fire did not affect poll result – Police
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the burning down of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s office in the Takai Local Government Area of Kano State by suspected hoodlums.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna said the fire was set off at the generator house behind the office building, adding that it was put out immediately.
“We have learned that the attack doesn’t affect the election results. It was from the generator house that they started the fire. It was brought under control and security has been intensified in the area,” he said.
But it was gathered that the incident happened at around 09.30 am, on Sunday.
A journalist, who was a victim of the attack, from the area, Sale Nasko, said the suspects.
