Kidnappers free Afenifere Youth Council President

Abducted National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Olajuni, has been released after 12 days in the kidnappers’ den.

The National Secretary of the Youths Council, Biodun Aderohunmu, confirmed his release in a viral video on Saturday.

Olajuni was abducted with others on Monday, February 17, 2025, on his way to Abuja for a meeting.

The kidnappers had threatened to kill him if a ransom of N100 million was not paid immediately.

He was seen in another video begging for his life, with a gun pointed at his head.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had on Wednesday ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to secure the safe release of the Afenifere Youth Leader.

In the video in which he announced his freedom, Ojajuni said his abductors released him in Ibillo, Edo State.

It is not clear if ransom was paid or not.
