A Director with the Lagos State Government, Serifat Olubukola Talabi, has been killed just four days before her retirement and 60th birthday celebration.

Newsmakerlive reports that Talabi, who served as Director of Procurement at the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), was due to retire on October 22, the same day she had planned to hold a joint “Thanksgiving Retirement and 60th Birthday” celebration.

The event, according to her invitation card, was scheduled to hold at NERDC Conference Centre, NERDC Road, near Fela Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos.

However, tragedy struck on October 18, when Talabi was knocked down by a vehicle while crossing the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) camp in the Ibafo area of Ogun State.

Hee family members have since announced her burial arrangements.

A wake will be held on October 23, while the burial service is scheduled for October 24, both taking place at 10, Ore-Ofe Street, Ara Hall Bus Stop, Ibafo, Ogun State.

Her death has thrown colleagues, friends, and family into mourning, coming just days before what was meant to be a joyous milestone in her life.
