Lagos hosts Uzodimma, Diri, others Tuesday for Freedom Online 5th lecture
Lagos State will on Tuesday host Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as well Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, among others for the fifth annual lecture of Freedom Online, an online newspapers.
A statement by the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, Gabriel Akinadewo, says “all invited guests have confirmed attendance”.
Akinadewo added that a former governor of Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Daniel, is the Chairman of this year lecture.
He added, “Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State is the Special Guest Speaker while Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State is the Special Keynote Speaker.
“A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George, is the Special Guest of Honour.
“Also expected are former Police Affairs Minister, Navy Captain Omoniyi Olubolade (retd,); a former Managing Director of Daily Times, Chief Tola Adeniyi and others.”
Akinadewo said the lecture with the theme, ‘2023 – 2027: Nigerians, elected leaders and expectations,’ would start by 9am at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
He added that the President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mr. Eze Anaba, and President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), Maureen Chigbo, are Chief Hosts.
According to Akinadewo, the lecture is an annual event “that brings together captains of industry, media chiefs, politicians and professionals to reflect on national issues and propose objective course of action.
“We have always been forthright on matters of Nigeria’s progress and future.”
