Lagos postpones repair work on Ogudu–Oworonshoki Bridge

The Lagos State Government says it has postponed the repair work on the Ogudu–Oworonshoki Bridge.

While no reason was given for the sudden change, the Commissioner for Transportation, Lagos State. Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, in a statement assured the public that the state government was committed to their safety, adding that a new date for the repair would soon be announced.

The statement reads in full, “The Lagos State Government wishes to inform motorists that the previously announced traffic diversion for repair works on the Ogudu–Oworonshoki Bridge has been rescheduled.

“A new date for the repair works will be communicated.

“The State Government remains committed to ensuring public safety and minimal disruption during infrastructural upgrades. We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued cooperation.”

Recall that the bridge repair was initially scheduled to begin on May 13 and end on September 23, 2025.
