LASPA vows to prosecute persons that attacks its officials

The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), has said it will invoke the full wrath of the law on anybody or groups trying to obstruct it operations in the state.
Dunkwu Divine, Head, Public Affairs in a Friday statement said the LASPA General Manager, Mrs Adebisi Adelabu, stated this, noting with displeasure the unwarranted attacks on LASPA officials during a routine exercise to verify parking compliance by some staff and security personnel of Better Mart, Badore Road, Off Addo Road, Ajah and at Ashley mall in Epe.
Describing the attacks as illegal and unacceptable, the GM stressed that the Parking Authority will stop at nothing to ensure that the individuals and organisations responsible for the attacks on its officers are brought to book.
She emphasized that it is a great offense to obstruct the activities of government officials on duty, adding that it is even a greater offense to attack and beat up State officials carrying out their statutory assignments.
According to her, the incident represents a serious breach of protocol and an unlawful obstruction of government officials in the execution of their duties.
”LASPA strongly condemns any form of violence or intimidation directed at its personnel and reaffirms its commitment to lawful enforcement and public safety.
”LASPA is resolute in the actualization of it’s mandate at ensuring compliance to the state traffic regulations and would not be intimidated by anyone,” she said.
