Leave our barracks, police leadership tells civilian occupants, retired cops
The Nigeria Police Force has given all civilians living or trading in police barracks across the country six months to vacate premises or risk being evicted.
This is contained in a signal directed to all barracks chairmen and block leaders across the nation.
Juliana Francis News reports that the order also affects police personnel, who had retired from NPF but are still living in police barracks.
The signal, which was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Dangana Elijah, states that the affected retired personnel and civilians had been given till 15th September 2022 to vacate apartments or structures they are currently occupying or using.
The signal states: “You are directed to warn all occupants of your barracks and blocks to demolish all shanties and attachments in the barracks and flush out all civilians, squatters, dependents six months after retirement, children above 18 years old and beer sellers on or before 15th September 2022.”
