Man remanded in custody for bullying NURTW boss MC Oluomo

The Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) have arraigned one Lawal Johnson before the Federal High Court, Lagos, for allegedly cyberbullying Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Johnson is facing two counts in the suit marked FHC/L/724c/2025 before Justice Deinde Dipeolu.
An aide to MC Oluomo alleged that Johnson who operates the social media handle “Olus Bolkas,” post disparaging contents against the complainant.
Prosecutor S.A. Adebesin told the court the offences occurred between July and August 2025 in Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area, Lagos State.
Johnson allegedly sent voice and video messages through social media, calling Akinsanya offensive names and subjecting him to ridicule, emotional, and psychological abuse.
The offences were said to have contravene Section 24(1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015 (as amended in 2024) and Section 14(1) of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, 2015.
Johnson pleaded not guilty and applied for bail, which was granted at N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Court ordered his remand in custody until bail conditions were perfected.
The trial was adjourned till October 15, 2025.
