Masquerader crushed to death by tricycle in Anambra

A commercial tricycle (keke NAPEP) on Sunday crushed a masquerade to death in Imo Awka, Awka, Anambra State.

The incident was said to have occurred during a celebration in the town, the Imo Awka festival.

According to reports, the streets were filled with masqueraders and spectators who came for the festival.

It was said that somehow a young masquerader was hit by a tricycle and the deity fell, hitting his head against the ground.

Eyewitnesses claim the victim was a boy in a masquerade costume.
