Massive ‘go-slow’ as truck and tanker collide on Third Mainland Bridge

There is massive gridlock on the Third Mainland Bridge and its environs preventing smooth movement for workers and business persons.
Report said a tanker and a truck collided overnight on the bridge, leading to problematic movement as motorists struggle to find a way to beat traffic.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) made confirmed in a statement early on Monday.
Areas affected include Alalpere inward Lagos Island, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway inward Lagos Island, and parts of Ikorodu Road as commuters made to avoid the Third Mainland Bridge.
LASTMA in the statement said, “Traffic is moving slowly exiting the Tollgate towards Iyana Oworo due to an accident on the Third Mainland Bridge, near the UNILAG waterfront, heading towards the Island.
“A tanker and a truck collided overnight, causing significant disruptions.
“Our personnel and the Nigerian Police Force are on the scene, actively monitoring traffic and ensuring safety.
“Cones have been placed behind the vehicles to prevent further accidents.
“Efforts are underway to evacuate the affected vehicles and restore normal traffic flow.
“We will provide further updates as the situation develops.
“Motorists are advised to exercise caution and plan accordingly.”
