The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has said his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is still his boss.

He said this during the rededication ceremony for the Rivers State Judiciary’s 2023–2024 legal year, which Wike also attended.

He spoke on Thursday at the Cyprian’s Anglican Church on Hospital Road, Port Harcourt, venue of the event.

Fubara called for peace in the oil-rich state and said that the political turmoil in the state was history.

The governor said Rivers state can be at peace if the players and those who support them behave peacefully.

He said, “My oga remains my oga. Whatever that has happened is in the past. I have not sent anybody to malign anybody.”

The governor warned his supporters to refrain from disparaging his opponents by using foul language.

According to him, in trying to attain development, the devil will always attack, but what is most important is to “identify the devil and push it out.”

It was the first time the two politicians who were the major characters in the most recent political controversy would cross path in the state.

Earlier, Wike shook hands with Fubara and sat in the same row as him for the duration of the ceremony.
