Residents of Sango-Ota area of Ogun State briefly joined in the naira protests on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the initial complaint turned to protest over the rejection of the old naira notes by banks in the area.
The protesters also complained that the banks refused to make the new notes available.
Some of them claimed that they had been begging for money.
The timely intervention from the police prevented the situation from escalating, as the protesters were said to have departed to their various homes.
