President Bola Tinubu Media aide, Tope Ajayi has expressed shock over the threat by the Nigeria Labour Congress to shut down the economy if its President Joe Ajaero is arrested or detained by the police.

Recall that the police had invited the NLC boss on Wednesday over their probe into terrorism financing.
The police had warned against ignoring the invite, saying if Ajaero stayed away it might issue warrant against him.
The NLC top man ignored the invite and rather fixed next week to appear. His lawyers also asked the police to avail the team of the details of the probe.
However, the NLC organs met early on Wednesday and decided to embark on strike action if the police arrest Ajaero or detain him.

Speaking on the scenario in his Facebook post on Thursday, Ajayi lamented the NLC action and described it as unnecessary.
He wrote “It appears we are gradually building a society where some people can hide under different platforms to assume immunity. I am yet to see any reason why Police can not invite NLC President for questioning if there is sufficient reason to do so. Police invitation does not amount to arrest. All the threat of strike action and shutting down of the economy by some NLC affiliate unions is needless intimidation of the state.”
