Police probe death of KWASU undergraduate lovers in hostel

The Kwara State Police Command says its men have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of two undergraduates of the Kwara State University.

It was gathered that the late students Tobiloba Daniel and  Arewa Abayomi, who was suspected to be Daniel’s lover, were found naked dead in their hostel room, outside the university campus.

Other students living in the hostel said the deceased were both 200-level students of the state university and were taking the ongoing semester examination.

One of the students who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “We became concerned when they did not come to sit for the ongoing examination in the university for three days.

“Some of their close friends went to their hostel and forced the door open; they found them both dead and naked.”

The Director, University Relations, Hajia Saeedat Aliyu, said the university would not comment on the incident for now.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident.

He said, “The two of them were found dead inside their room and the police were alerted.

“Our officers took the corpses to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for autopsy. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.”
