Presidential spokesman Doyin Okupe dies at 72 years

A former presidential spokesman Dr Doyin Okupe, is said to have died at the age of 72.

While the family has not made any formal announcement, sources said Okupe had been gravely ill in the past weeks.

The sources said he died after a prolonged battle with cancer.

In October 2023, it was reported that Okupe was receiving treatment for prostate cancer in Israel.

Recall that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer 16 years ago and later developed sarcoma in his right shoulder.

However other sources close to the family said the former Director-General of Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council was in a critical condition.
