Prof Piwuna is ASUU new president
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has elected a new President, Professor Chris Piwuna.
Piwuna is consultant psychiatrist and Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Jos.
Piwuna succeeds Professor Victor Osodeke, a Soil Science expert from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State.
The leadership transition was formalized on Sunday during the 23rd National Delegates Congress of the union in Benin City, Edo State.
Piwuna contested the position with Professor Adamu Babayo of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.
