PSC renames hall in memory of late IGP Arase

According to the Commission, the Day of Tributes held at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, drew dignitaries, colleagues, and admirers who described Arase as a scholar, reformer, and gentleman of rare courage and intellect.
More than 500 persons signed the condolence register opened in his honour.
Speaking at the event on behalf of the PSC Chairman, the Director of Human Resources Management, Mr. Aminu Malumfashi, said, “Late IGP Arase was not only a police officer of repute but also a scholar whose reforms remain cornerstones of modern policing in Nigeria.”
A requiem mass will hold on Friday, September 26, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, Abuja.
This will be followed by a lying-in-state at his Abuja residence on Saturday, before his remains are airlifted to Benin, Edo State.
The late Arase will be laid to rest Friday, October 3, 2025, at his Benin City residence.
