PSNAFSA mourns General, other soldiers killed in Borno

Ebun Emmanuel –April 10, 2026
A group, Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies, has condemned the killing of Brigadier General Oseni Braimah and other soldiers in an attack on a military base in Borno State.
The group said the killings, which occurred on April 8, 2026, during an attack on the Damboa Military Base, was a “heinous and cowardly act.”
In a statement by its Convener, Mary Abayomi-Fatile, PSNAFSA expressed condolences to the families of the slain officers and soldiers, describing their deaths as a national loss.
It said the nation stood in solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the repose of the souls of the fallen soldiers.
“We salute the courage, sacrifice, and steadfast patriotism of these fallen heroes who left behind their loved ones to serve the nation at the ultimate cost of their lives.
“Their bravery remains deeply ingrained in the conscience of a grateful nation. We also honour all officers and soldiers who have paid the supreme price since the onset of insurgency in Nigeria. Their blood will not be shed in vain,” the statement read.
PSNAFSA, however, said the persistence of attacks on troops underscored the need for renewed and coordinated national action to tackle insecurity.
“We urge the Federal Government and all relevant stakeholders to identify, name, and shame sponsors of terrorism, while taking concrete steps to cut off their financial and logistical networks.
“The channels through which arms and ammunition are trafficked into the country must be effectively blocked, and those complicit brought to justice without delay,” the statement added.
PSNAFSA further called for stronger national unity and urged Nigerians to support security agencies through intelligence sharing and vigilance.
