Again fuel scarcity appeared in Lagos State on Monday.
Many fuel stations were closed just as there was heavy queue at the few stations that opened for business.
As a result commercial vehicles were scarce on the road, just as many residents found it difficult to commute to their work places.
Many motorists were caught napping by the development as there was little or no sign that there would be fuel scarcity.
Motorists told our correspondent that the development was due to the scarcity of petrol, adding that the matter had been lingering for a while.
A driver, Mr Samel Olayemi, told another correspondent that all the fuel stations from Abule Egba in the Alimosho area to Ogba, Ikeja and Maryland areas were closed.
He added, “Even the big ones like Mobil that are open have crazy queue. What happened? I still bought fuel yesterday (Sunday) without problem.”
It was also gather that some of the filling stations have fuel, but they chose not to sell it.
Recall that fuel scarcity had been building up in some parts of the country like Abuja and some other states in the northern part of the country since May.
