Bolaji Abdullahi, national publicity secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), says the violent attacks in Kwara, Katsina, and other parts of the country show a “concrete proof that Nigeria has no government”.

In a post on his X handle on Saturday, Abdullahi referenced a 2014 comment by President Bola Tinubu, who as former governor of Lagos, had written that “the festering Boko Haram attacks on the North East and massacre of innocent citizens is concrete proof that Nigeria has no government.”

Following the growing attacks by bandits and terrorists in many parts of the country, Tinubu’s 2014 post has now become a reference for the critics of his administration.

In his comment on Saturday, the ADC spokesperson replicated Tinubu’s post to describe the current security situation in the country.

“The festering insecurity and violent attacks in Kwara, Katsina and other parts of the country, and massacre of innocent Nigerians is concrete proof that Nigeria has no government,” he wrote, echoing Tinubu’s words.

The 2014 X post has become a reference point for critics of the Tinubu-led administration amid the rising insecurity in the country.

Since the beginning of the year, several communities across Nigeria, especially in the northern part of the country, have experienced a surge in violent attacks.

On February 2, suspected Boko Haram terrorists killed 17 people in Guzamala-Abbari village in Guzamala and parts of Nganzai LGAs of Borno.

The following day, bandits killed at least 20 people in the Doma A and Doma B communities, Tafoki ward, Faskari LGA of Katsina state

On February 4, terrorists attacked Nuku and Woro communities in the Kaiama LGA of Kwara state, killing at least 75 residents and setting several houses set ablaze.
