Reductions from Kano hospitals’ revenue inappropriate – Govt
The Kano State Government has suspended what it described as “inappropriate deductions” of 16.25% each from income/revenue generated by some hospitals in Kano Metropolis.
A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Bichi, on Thursday said before now such deductions were allegedly remitted to ITC Global System and Polaris Bank Limited.
He said, “Government has observed with great concern the inappropriate deductions of the sum of 16.25% each from the income/revenue generated by some hospitals in Kano Metropolis which is remitted to ITC Global System and Polaris Bank Limited.
“The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has granted approval for the immediate suspension of the deductions, as well as the remittances being made to the aforementioned firms pending investigation into the circumstances that led to the improper deductions.
“The import of this communication therefore, is to intimate you of the foregoing development with a view to ensuring prompt compliance with the executive approval/directives.”
