A group, Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNASA), has commiserates with the Nigerian Navy over the loss of one of its gallant officers, Lt. Commander Gideon Yashim Gwaza.
Gwaza paid the ultimate sacrifice while rescuing a vessel in distress, recently.
He was said to have selflessly risked his life to save 59 people on board MV AMBIKA 4, a dredging vessel that was in danger of sinking at Okpobo field.
Despite the treacherous conditions, he courageously led the rescue operation, ensuring the safety of all on board.
Tragically, he lost his life in the process, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and selflessness.
A statement from Ambassador Mary Abayomi Fatile, Convener, PSNASA, said Gwaza’s sacrifice is a testament to the unwavering dedication and commitment of naval personnel, as well as other security agents, including military personnel, police officers, and emergency responders, who risk their lives every day to protect Nigerians from harm.
“Unfortunately, some of these brave individuals make the ultimate sacrifice, losing their lives in the line of duty.
“PSNASA therefore calls on Nigerians to come together as a society to support and appreciate the sacrifices of these heroes. It is our responsibility to recognize and appreciate the sacrifices of these heroes, who selflessly put the needs of others before their own.
“Let’s show our security agents that we value their service and sacrifices. Let’s stand together to support them and their families. We owe it to them to ensure that their bravery and selflessness are recognized and appreciated. Together, we can make a difference and show our security agents that we care,” she added.
PSNASA also extends condolences to the family of Late Lt. Commander Gideon Yashim Gwaza.
“You are not alone in your grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May the fond memories of his bravery, selflessness, and dedication to service bring you comfort and strength.
