Speeding minibus rams into truck, kills four

A teenager, as well as three other adults died on Tuesday after a minibus rammed into a broken-down truck along the Alagbon-Owode-Atan Road, Ogun State
The tragic incident also left three others injured.
The accident occurred when a white Suzuki minibus with number plate, KTU 874 YJ crashed into a stationary Sinotruck with no registration number.
According to the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, a total of 11 people were involved in the crash – two males and nine females.
He confirmed that four victims, including a teenage passenger, died instantly, while three others sustained varying degrees of injury.
Akinbiyi blamed both drivers for the accident, explaining that the bus driver was speeding and failed to notice the truck that had broken down without any caution sign placed on the road.
“The crash could have been avoided if the truck driver had posted a warning triangle,” he said.
He disclosed that officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) had already moved the injured victims to the General Hospital, Idi-Iroko, before TRACE officials arrived at the scene.
The vehicles involved were later towed away, while normal traffic flow has been restored.
