President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026).

President Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi from Europe, where he spent part of his end-of-year break, engaging in discussions with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The annual summit, initiated by the UAE’s President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, promotes global discussions on sustainability. It will be held from January 12 to 18.

Tinubu landed at 1:30 pm local time at the presidential wing of Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and was received by Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE’s minister of state in the ministry of foreign affairs and Yusuf Tuggar, the minister of foreign affairs, and other senior government officials.

This year’s summit theme is “The nexus of next: All systems Go”. World leaders, policymakers, and industry experts are expected to converge and accelerate sustainable development and chart new pathways for socioeconomic progress.

In a statement, Bayo Onanuga, presidential spokesperson, said the visit further reinforces the strong diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and the UAE, while positioning Nigeria as an active contributor to global conversations on sustainable development.
