President Bola Tinubu has confirmed the identities of the two people who died in the car crash involving Anthony Joshua on Monday.

Two lives were lost after a Lexus SUV conveying Joshua and his team rammed into a stationary truck along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The boxer survived the crash with minor injuries and was taken to a medical hospital in Lagos. He is now in a stable condition.

In a tweet, Tinubu said he has spoken with Joshua and revealed that the two people who died are Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, the boxer’s close associates.

Ghami was Joshua’s long-time friend and his strength and conditioning coach, while Latif served as his personal trainer.

“AJ assured me he is receiving the best possible care,” Tinubu writes.

“I also spoke with his mother and prayed for her. She was deeply appreciative of the call.”

A few days ago, Joshua and his two close associates came into the country for the yuletide holiday following the former heavyweight boxing champion’s knockout victory over Jake Paul.

Latif and Joshua shared a video on Instagram of themselves playing table tennis just six hours before the fatal accident.
