Tinubu leaves for 19th G20 Leaders Summit in Brazil

President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, today to attend the 19th G20 Leaders Summit, which will take place on November 18 and 19

The summit, organized by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will bring together leaders from the world’s largest economies to address pressing global issues.

A statement from presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga said, “This year’s summit, under the theme ‘Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,’ will cover topics such as combating hunger and poverty, reforming global governance institutions, and promoting sustainable development and energy transition.”

“Nigeria has long championed the reform of global governance institutions and has presented its strong credentials as a candidate for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.”

Tinubu will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Livestock Development Mukhtar Maiha, and Minister of Arts, Tourism, Culture, and Creativity Hannatu Musawa.
