President Bola Tinubu, on Friday, finished a meet with Niger Delta activist, Asari Dokubo, at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Dokubo has been one of Tinubu’s staunchest supporters and backed the then All Progressives Congress presidential candidate in the run-up to the 2023 elections.

Dokubo has also backed some of the president’s policies like the removal of subsidy on petrol.

“If Ahmed Bola Tinubu fails, hold me responsible. I am unapologetic.

“I have known him since 1992 and I know what he stands for, and can stand in the gap between him and the people and say this.

“This is a step (subsidy removal) my brother Goodluck failed to take when he had the opportunity.

“The same step Buhari could not take and Tinubu took it from his first day at the office,” Dokubo said recently.

Tinubu has been holding meetings with various groups and stakeholders since he assumed the reins on May 29.

On Thursday, the president held a similar meeting with Muhammad Sanusi II, former Emir of Kano.

The president has also met with Goodluck Jonathan, former president of Nigeria; national assembly lawmakers; state governors; Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano and NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 elections; and members of the G5 led by Nyesom Wike, immediate past governor of Rivers, among others.
