Tobi Amusan ends with Silver medal at Tokyo 2025 athletics championship

World-record holder Tobi Amusan has ended up with a silver medal in the women’s 100m hurdles final in Tokyo, Japan.
The medal won on Monday is Nigeria’s first medal at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji snatched gold. She ran at a stunning speed to clock 12.24 seconds and set a new Swiss national record in the process.
Amusan, who won the gold medal in the Championships in Oregon, USA, clocked 12.29 seconds.
Earlier in the day, Amusan raced into the women’s 100mH final winning her semifinal in 12.36s (-0.2). She beat Nadine Visser who was 2nd in 12.45s, while Pia Skrzyszowska finished 3rd in 12.51s.
In the final run, the bronze medal was won by the United States’ Grace Stark in 12.34 seconds, followed by compatriot Masai Russell in fourth place with 12.44. Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland and Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas both clocked 12.49 season’s bests to share fifth, while Jamaica’s Danielle Williams finished seventh in 12.53 and Nadine Visser of the Netherlands finished at eighth position with 12.56 timing.
