A yet-be-identified man was on Monday evening crushed to death by a train in the Mushin area of Lagos State.

The incident was said to have happened around 6pm when the unidentified man was fatally struck while walking along the railway track.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said the man was found dead on the tracks after being struck by a train.

LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the agency responded to an emergency call concerning accident near Cappa in Lagos.

He said, “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an adult male, walking along the railway track, was found dead after being hit by an oncoming train.

“Further investigations conducted revealed that the yet-to-be-identified, half-dressed adult male died immediately on the railway tracks due to the impact of the collision.”

Oke-Osanyintolu added that the remains of the adult male had been bagged by the agency’s response team, and handed over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) officials for onward movement to the morgue.
