Two feared dead in Yoruba Nation agitators, OPC, police face-off
Two persons are feared dead in a clash involving Yoruba Nation agitators, the Oodua People’s Congress and the police in the Ojota area of Lagos.
The agitators had gathered for a rally on Monday morning to press for self-determination.
Sources said members of the Oodua People’s Congress had tried to join the demonstration, which met resistance from the Yoruba Nation agitators.
The police were said to have moved to disperse them.
Security agencies subsequently took over the area.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said normalcy had been restored.
He added, “I don’t have details, but normalcy has be restored to the area.”
