Two skit makers in Kano have been remanded in prison for allegedly defaming the character of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in one of their videos on TikTok.
Mubarak Muhammad popularly known as Uniquepikin and Nazifi Muhammad were both accused of portraying the governor as a corrupt official in one of their skits.
The video which was posted on TikTok last week showed the duo depicting Ganduje as a corrupt politician who sold every available public plot of land in the state.
Uniquepikin and Nazifi were arraigned by the police before Magistrate Court 58, Nomansland, presided by Magistrate Aminu Gabari.
Uniquepikin and Nazif pleaded guilty to the charges of conspiracy and defamation.
Presiding Magistrate Gambari subsequently ordered the remand of the two Tikokers in prison custody while the case was adjourned to November 7, 2022.
