Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has completed a permanent switch to Galatasaray for a Turkish transfer record of €75 million.

He said the Turkish giants offer him the perfect environment to fully express himself on and off the pitch.

Osimhen officially became the most expensive player in Turkish football history after Galatasaray activated his €75m release clause at Napoli.

Thousands of Galatasaray supporters flooded the Atatürk Airport and lined the streets to celebrate his arrival on Wednesday which underscore the magnitude of his signing.

The club also announced the signing of the 26-year-old from Napoli in a post on X on Thursday.

Osimhen penned a 4-year contract with Galatasaray and will be earning €15 million per season. He will get an additional €1 million loyalty bonus and another €5 million as image rights fee.

Napoli will also get 10 percent of the profit from Osimhen’s next sale.

Galatasaray will pay €40 million from the transfer fee immediately to Napoli and the additional €35 million over the next year.

The deal also includes restrictions on Osimhen joining Serie A clubs for two years.

The transfer put an end to a two-year saga that saw the striker frozen out of Napoli’s squad at the beginning of last season.

Osimhen, who spent the previous season on loan at the Turkish club, revealed that his decision to commit permanently was influenced by the overwhelming support he received from Galatasaray supporters throughout his time in Istanbul.

He singled out the fans who tracked his arrival flight in real time and showed up in large numbers as a sign of unwavering devotion.

“I want to sincerely thank all the fans who followed our flight and came out to welcome me. I believe I will give my best here and show myself in the best way,” he added.

Osimhen will seek to replicate his form from his loan spell with Galatasaray last season, when he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 matches across all competitions as the club won both league and cup double.
