Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold, has gifted his mother a house in celebration of her 60th birthday.

The singer threw a lavish ceremony for his mother on Thursday with friends and colleagues in attendance.

During the occasion, Kiekie, the skit maker, who also graced the event, revealed that Adekunle Gold bought a house for his mother.

“AG bought his mum a goddemmmm house😩😩😩🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾,” she wrote.

The music star was also seen presenting documents of the house to his mum which she joyfully waved to guests.

The development comes at about the same time when Def Jam, the US music label, announced the signing of the Afrobeats star.

Def Jam Recordings is owned by Universal Music Group and has worked with American superstars such as Jay Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West.

In an interview, Tunji Balogun, Def Jam’s CEO/chairman, said he has always wanted to sign the Afrobeats star.

Balogun praised the singer for his visible growth in “songwriting, artistry, vocals and showmanship.”

Adekunle Gold gained popularity after putting out ‘Sade’ and a high-life cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’.

He was signed to YBNL in 2015 but later exited the record label after his contract expired.

He founded Afro Urban Records, his own label, and released two albums, ‘About 30’ in 2018 and ‘Catch Me If You Can’ in 2022.
