Polaris Bank has said it did not stop staff members from going to Jumat prayer on Fridays.

Theeditorial.ng had quoted Daily Trust in a report where a leaked memo had revealed the bank’s stand on staff members going for Jumat prayer on Fridays.

Reacting, a top member of the bank’s management who preferred to be anonymous said the story was false.

The anonymous source told theeditorial.ng that, “Polaris Bank is a secular organisation and I’ve worked there for nine years (Skye Bank inclusive). No soul has asked me not to go for my daily prayers, talk less of Jumat.

“The originator of the leaked memo acted out of bounds and the Bank reacted to the post when it appeared on Twitter yesterday and have done the needful internally.

“Hope you know the Chairman of this national Bank is a Muslim. And we also have an Executive Director who is also a Muslim with several Muslims scattered all over the over 250 branches and Cash Centres across all the 6 geo-political zones of this country.

“Don’t forget our immediate past MD/CEO who is now a Senator for Lagos East is a Muslim as well.”
