We’ve not resumed, FUOYE debunks notice of resumption
The Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, has debunked news that the institution has commenced a new academic year for its teeming students particularly asking its 100 level students to resume, describing it as not only fabricated and fake but misleading.
This, the university said was nothing but the handiwork of scammers as the university had not asked its students to resume following the indefinite strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, in a statement titled, ‘Resumption of Studies for 100 Level Students’ debunked the notice of resumption, cautioning students and their parents to be wary of the antics of scammers as the university had not given such directive.
The statement reads, “The attention of the university management has been drawn to fabricated online information in which 100 level students were asked to resume for academic activities on campus as from Monday, 5th September, 2022.
“The university management wishes to urge the members of the general public to disregard the misleading information as academic activities are still on hold owing to the ongoing strike by the ASUU.
“It’s worthy of note that the signature of the memorandum is not even known in in the FUOYE community.”
