Adekunle Gold, the Nigerian singer, has opened up about his conscious choice to avoid trouble, saying he prioritises peace of mind above all else.

In a recent video, the ‘Party No Dey Stop’ hitmaker explained that he actively steers clear of confrontation to prevent saying things he might later regret.

“I am not all that nice, but I just like peace. Some of us, we just don’t like trouble. In fact, I don’t want to near it. Once I see that the conversation is already getting heightened, I just want to leave,” he said.

The 38-year-old artiste also expressed bewilderment at those who seem eager to engage in conflict.

“What is your mind like? I’m curious… why do you not like peace of mind? What don’t you just walk away?” Gold asked

He clarified that his tendency to withdraw isn’t born from an inability to handle disputes, but from a deep self-awareness of his own temperament.

“Meanwhile, some of us that like to leave when there is slight wahala, it is not like we cannot fight oh. Let’s not even get it skinny. But me, I know myself,” Gold said.

“My mouth is not good. Ask anybody that knows me, my mouth is not good. So I don’t even want to say anything I would later regret.”
