A middle-aged woman has died in an auto crash in Calabar, Cross River State while chasing her allegedly cheating husband who she saw with another woman.
The Sector Commander, Cross River, Federal Road Safety Corps, Maikano Hassan, confirmed the lone incident which occurred in Calabar on Sunday.
Maikano said the on high speed in order to catch up with her disloyal husband, and subsequently lost control of her Toyota Highlander on Muritala Mohammed Highway in Calabar.
The sector commander added that the lone female driver veered off the road into a ditch and later died.
He said, “The woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but she died few minutes later due to the injury sustained from the incident.”
It was gathered that the late woman sighted her husband with another lady in a mall and tried to waylay the man, who, however, sped off.
A source said, “Her husband maneuverer his vehicle out of the attempted blockade then took the Murtala Muhammed highway, with his wife is serious pursuit.
“In a bid to outrun her husband, she lost control of the speeding vehicle, veered off the road and slammed the vehicle, head long, into a tree, damaging the vehicle beyond repairs and also killing herself.”
