Yuletide treat: Jaiyesimi, Oyetoro bring ITAN the Story to MUSON Centre

All is now set for a theatrical Detty December on December 25 and 26 as seasoned producer Ayo Jaiyesimi beckons fun lovers to the MUSON Centre, Lagos, where her acclaimed play, ITAN, will be on stage.

ITAN the Story dexterously dramatises the intrigues that characterise the relationship between the old and the new in the delicate mission to move society forward. Elders want to push the tested principles but the youth too want to have more than a say. It is the search for this delicate balance that Jaiyesinmi processes into a most engaging and entertaining play which, she says, will offer the audience a memorable Christmas and Boxing Day.

The play features experienced actors like iconic comic actor, Afeez Oyetoro (aka Saka), tested and trusted Nissi George, Victor Oyebode (Boy Alinco), Oluwakemi Aderibigbe, Femi Oyegbile, Lilian Aliu, Boye Oshuntuyi, Hepizihah Idakwo, among other established and rising talents. It will be performed on December 25 and 26, with Jaiyesimi saying while it would be on stage at 7pm on Christmas Day, there would be two shows on the 26th: 3pm and 7pm.

According to her, ITAN is a play that has something for everyone. Provoking a dialogue between the old and new generations, it invokes history and culture in a way that creates a conflict but eventually resolves it in favour of continuity and progress.
