2023: Influence election of youths, group tells Sanwo-Olu
The All Progressives Congress Youth High-Level Working Group on Youth inclusion in the 2023 election has urged the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to support the election of youths in the 2023 polls.
The group, which was set up by the APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, also pleaded with the governor to use his influence with his counterpart in other state of the federation to support election of youths.
The group spoke on Tuesday night during a visit to Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
The APC group delegation was led by its co-chair, Mr Ahmad Salihijo, the Director-General, Nigeria Rural Electrification Agency.
Other members of the group in the delegation were the Commissioner, Federal Character Commission Mrs. Ginika Tor; a Special Adviser to the President, Wole Aboderin; and a Special Adviser to the Speaker, Ibrahim Hamza.
They presented the list of young aspirants who purchased APC expression of interest and nomination forms from Lagos State for different offices ahead of the party’s primary elections to Sanwo-Olu for his consideration.
Israel, who was present at the meeting, thanked Sanwo-Olu for his commitment to youth inclusion in politics and governance.
He said, ”We thank you for appointing many youths to serve in your cabinet as commissioners and special advisers, among others.”
Sanwo-Olu in his address said his administration would continue to support youth inclusion in politics and governance.
