Murphy Afolabi buried in Lagos amid tears [VIDEO]
Nigerian actor popular in the Yoruba film industry, Murphy Afolabi, has been laid to rest in Lagos.
Afolabi passed away on Sunday — a few days after celebrating his 49th birthday via his Instagram page.
Chairman of the directors guild at TAMPAN, Damola Olatunji, said Afolabi died after he slumped in the bathroom.
He said the deceased had briefly suffered typhoid and malaria before he slumped.
“He slumped in the bathroom and died. Everyone is still at the hospital waiting for the family,” Olatunji had said.
Afolabi was buried at his Ikorodu residence on Monday.
His body arrived at the burial ground from the mortuary in a transparent casket.
According to Islamic rites, Afolabi was wrapped in a white cloth and laid in a simple narrow grave.
The actor was laid to rest as tears flowed from family, friends, and colleagues in the Yoruba movie industry.
