The suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has been invited the  Department of State Services for questioning.

The Spokesman for the DSS, Peter Afunanya, in a statement late on Wednesday said Bawa was invited after his suspension from office by the President.

The statement reads, “The Department of State Services has invited Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

“Bawa arrived a few hours ago. The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.”

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had suspended Bawa indefinitely, with immediate effect.

A statement on Wednesday from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation stated that Bawa was suspended to ensure investigation into his conduct in office, as well as some “weighty allegations against him.”
