Kano approves promotion of 20,542 teachers, non-teaching staff

The Kano State Government has approved the promotion of 20,542 primary and junior secondary school teachers, as well as non-teaching staff.

The Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Malam Yusuf Kabir, announced Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s approva during a meeting with education secretaries, heads of personnel and EMIS in Kano on Monday.

A statement by Deputy Director Public Relations, Balarabe Jazuli explained that Yusuf directed the implementation of the promotion to the affected staff with immediate effect to boost their morale.

“The governor directed the board to implement the promotion immediately in order to ensure that they are paid immediately,” the statement said.

The SUBEB chairman urged the beneficiaries to rededicate themselves to their duties and expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for prioritizing education in the state.
