Trump’s President-elect, Tinubu, Netanyahu, Starmer hail incoming US C-in-C
Trump won after garnering 279 electoral college votes.
Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party, now has 223 electoral college votes.
Nigeria President, Bola Tinubu, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the UK’s Keir Starmer are among the first world leaders to congratulate Donald Trump.
President Tinubu says, “Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens.”
Tinubu in a statement by Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday, said he looks forward to strengthening the relations between Nigeria and the United States amid the complex challenges and opportunities of the contemporary world.
Also, Netanyahu, who has had a difficult relationship with President Joe Biden, spoke of “history’s greatest comeback”, adding that Trump’s return to office offered a “new beginning for America, a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America”.
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: “I look forward to working with Trump in the years ahead.”
