Nigerian woman killed by dogs during visit to her friend in Italy

A Nigerian lady, Patricia Masithela, who visited a male friend in Latina, Italy, has been killed by dogs.

According to a report by the Mirror newspaper of the United Kingdom, the 27-year-old lady was from Nigeria.

The incident was said to have occurred late Monday night when Masithela visited the male acquaintance at his derelict villa in the Lazio region.

Her chilling screams were reported to have pierced the night as neighbours were alerted to the savage attack.

Masithela, who relocated to Lazio from Nigeria, had reportedly gone to the house unaware that her friend was not at home.

After being mauled, she was discovered critically injured, lying in a pool of blood with deep wounds across her body.

Police intervened by shooting two of the dogs to allow emergency services to reach the scene.

The rest of the pack fled after the gunfire.

Medics provided immediate emergency treatment and rushed her to Santa Maria Goretti Hospital.

Despite their efforts, Masithela succumbed to the severe bite wounds and excessive blood loss.

She was described as a devoted mother to a five-year-old daughter.
