Bread-making machine sucks baker’s scarf into roller, strangles her

A baker was horrifically strangled to death in her bakery after her scarf got caught in a bread-making machine.
Zoe Letsiou, 49, was believed to be cleaning the bread maker in her own bakery when the scarf around her neck became tangled in the machine’s rollers. This caused the piece of clothing to tighten around her neck while the kneading machine continued to run.
Emergency services rushed to her business, near Larissa, Greece, after customers noticed the owner had been missing from the storefront.
Paramedics desperately tried to resuscitate the 49-year-old but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Zoe’s brother-in-law claimed she was cleaning the machine at the time of the tragedy.
Another local baker told ANT1, “The woman had finished production and was cleaning the machine, according to what her brother-in-law said.
“She was wearing a scarf which, when the machine started, got caught in the rollers and became a noose, and the scarf around her neck strangled her.”
Tributes for the loved baker have poured in from across the village of Damasi, around 30km North West of Larissa, according to The Sun.
Ronaldo gets firs international Red Card, may miss World Cup first match
Portugal and Al-Nassr striker, Cristiano Ronaldo is at risk of missing the start of the 2026 World Cup after his red card against Ireland on Thursday.
The former Real Madrid star was sent off after elbowing Dara O’Shea, with his dismissal confirmed after a VAR check.
Ronaldo’s team-mates were unable to launch a comeback at the Aviva Stadium after Troy Parrott’s first-half brace put Ireland in control.
Portugal are still in pole position to qualify from Group F, but now things are a little more complicated. Victory at home against Armenia will seal their qualification.
Ronaldo’s fate will hinge on the length of his ban. Were he to receive a ban of more than one game, it could carry through to the group stage of the World Cup proper.
For example, if Portugal qualify automatically and Ronaldo gets a two-game ban, he would miss the Armenia qualifier and the World Cup opener.
If he gets a two-game ban and Portugal slips up against Armenia, he would miss the first leg of a play-off.
