Travelers feared killed in Zamfara community as bombs explode

Some travellers have been feared killed after a suspected bomb explosion hit the Yar’Tasha–Dansadau route in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Saturday.

Zamfara State command Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar confirmed the incident, explaining that the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon but said there were no details at the moment.

“I can confirm that there was a blast in that area but the incident just happened. I can’t tell you details yet. I will update you later,” he said.

However, residents said the bomb may have been planted by bandits who have been causing mayhem across the state.

In a video clip currently making the rounds, travellers could be seen in panic while they flee the area.
