Kai Havertz netted a decisive goal in the closing moments of Saturday’s match, securing a 2-1 victory for Arsenal over Brentford.

The late winning goal, however, propelled Arsenal to the top of the Premier League standings.

With Liverpool and Manchester City set to face off at Anfield on Sunday, Arsenal had the opportunity to claim their eighth consecutive victory and temporarily take the lead in the Premier League standings.

Mikel Arteta’s team took an early lead when Declan Rice scored with a header from Ben White’s cross.

However, their advantage was short-lived as goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale’s mistake led to an equalizer by Yoane Wissa just before halftime.

In the second half, Arsenal pressed hard for a winning goal, with Rice coming close to scoring with a powerful shot that hit the crossbar.

As tension mounted and the prospect of dropping points loomed, Kai Havertz came to the rescue with a late header, securing a dramatic win for Arsenal.
