Bandits attack Army commander convoy, kill six soldiers
Some bandits have killed no fewer than six soldiers of the Nigerian Army in an ambush in Taraba State.
Sources said the soldiers were with the convoy of the state army Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. Okorie when it came under attack on Tuesday on the way to Jalingo, the state capital.
The terrorists were said to have launched the attack in Tati village, in the Takum Local Government Area. Six of the soldiers were said to have been fatally injured.
It was gathered that the remaining soldiers engaged terrorists until reinforcement came, leading to the dislodgment of the attackers.
Two of the bandits while reportedly killed, while others escaped with gunshot injuries.
